I Look, for I Know You Are There

I look, for I know you are a part of my journey
You are the pot at the end of the rainbow
You are the reason I wake up every morning
You are why I write and write and write

I look, for I know you are important
You are the catalyst to even greater things
You are the reason for every one of my seasons
You are why I wake up in the morning for work

I look, for I know we will make beautiful music together
You will arrive in the middle of my song and
You will be the most important influence in how it plays out
You will be known with me for doing great things

I look and look and look and look some more
I look for I know deep within my soul you are there
When I find you and I know I will, we will know it is right
We will know it was meant to be, since the day we were born

Beauty in the Darkness Grew

And so there was darkness as far as the eye could see
Everywhere I looked up, down, right, left darkness was all around me
Hope burned inside me like an eternal flame that could never be extinguished
This hope was untouchable, pure, incapable of desecration

Day by day I walked through this darkness with a smile on my face
Past the Debby Downers and the Doubtful Dans
Past the Negative Nellies and the Sorrowful Susans
As the time passed their eyes would look at me with all hope gone

Day by day I walked throughout this darkness with a smile on my face
Past the Nagging Nancies and the Narcissistic Nelsons
Past the Deranged Derricks and the Distraught Danas
As the time passed their eyes would look at me with all hope gone

And so one fateful day hope, fate, originality and reality all met
A light erupted in the darkness brighter then the Sun
It was one beautiful flower, untainted and unmarred by the blackness
It's very existence mocked the darkness and I knew I had made it

I Will Not Surrender

My goals are too great to simply go away
They will effect a great many for years to come
Their effect will be legendary in scope and possibility
Many will wonder how one dreamed so big

The seed will start small, but will grow greater by the day
Effecting the many worldwide in positive ways yet unimagined
I belief in a world made better by handwork and determination
I belief in a world where all can achieve for the greater good of all

I believe a free university is a possibility
For Pennsylvanians, the United States
For North America and the world as a whole
And by my hand this will be a reality

I believe in a world free of poverty
Where all men, women and children
Can and will succeed individually and collectively
And by our hands this will be a reality

I believe in a world where war is an antique
Stored on a shelf in a museum to remind children
The consequences of a lack of inequality and morality
And by our hands this will be a reality

I believe in a world where money doesn't rule
Our world will be ruled by ideals, intellectuals and natural law
Our world will have food, shelter and fear nothing
And by our hands this will be a reality

These are just a few goals I set forth for myself
As well as our society as a whole
We haven't truly moved beyond what has once
Been done in ancient times until these things

Start to become a reality of our everyday lives
We are simply reliving the past with newer toys
Newer names, clothes and jobs with fancy titles
We can change and make this all reality

Riddle Number#19-Sound of A Society

From the earliest ocarina to the electronic mixing board
I've danced on a string or happily hopped on a piano keyboard
I am the drum and the bass of the electronic DJ or band
Or the native rhythms on a tropical Caribbean island

Once you could only be hear me live
Until Edison gave me a new life of vinyl to live
Which is still the best, purest way to hear me today
And the purest reproduction in every way

Now your ability to hear me has grown more from then
First I could be heard over the AM, then FM Radio
Then I became personalized and portable in the Walk-Men
Then there was the Compact Disc Player and

Now there's the MP3 Player and Satellite Radio
As well as internet radio and streaming a YouTube Music Video
My future from now has yet to unfold
This will be left to the young and the bold

Fall

It comes in softly like a gentle whisper
The temperature gradually changes
The blanket of light's time over us
Dwindles like the sands of an hour glass

The colors of the leaves change and change some more
From the greenest of green on the eve of the season
To the most brilliant reds, pinks, oranges and yellows
Until they fall and clutter every yard, lawn and front door

While the day grows shorter and the night longer
New and different holidays grow from the darkness
Ghouls, ghosts and goblins crowd the streets of every city
Yelling Trick or Treat in every state in our land of fifty

The official color of the season grew to be orange
Brought about by the Jack O' Lantern who's legend
From our past grew from a gourd to a glowing pumpkin at long last
Helping poor old Jack's soul on it's unfortunate long way past

More grains from the our glass fall and each day
Gets a little shorter still and the nights a little bit longer
The leaves get raked, piled up, jumped in, cluttered
Raked again, piled up again and bagged up finally

New holidays sail in from across the ocean
Bringing new settlers from our past who met with
The local Indians and for a time worked hand in hand
In their day to day survival in our then young, wild land

This became a celebration of heart warming and homecoming
In this holiday we get to see long lost family and friends
With tables full of turkey, stuffing, corn, cranberry saue, ham
Home made bread, Salad, sweet potatoes and delicious desserts

This is a season of change, challenge and costumed kids
A season of constant color change and revitalizing reflection
A season for the takeoff of teaching, tenacious studying and being thankful
This is the Fall going out like a cold lion, the season when I was born

Riddle Number#18-A Voice for All Occasions

I am older then the oldest of cave paintings
I am the first way information was passed
I am still the most personal way to communicate
Technology will never fully rival my abilities

I am the vessel in which stories and news of old
Traveled from village to village, town to town
Country to country and century to century
Down throughout the ages to the present day

I am louder then the loudest drum or
Softer then the wind through the leaves
I can bring you up in a matter of minutes
Or drag you down in a few seconds time

From the right person or people
I can be the sweetest thing you will ever hear
I am there right as you were born and I am
Right there at your funeral on your way out

September 2011-Reflections…

So many opportunities all wrapped into one month
The positives are beginning to role over the negatives
Like a tidal wave of potently positively potential
Permeating through my multiple, multitudinous membranes

I would compare getting my positive attitude zeroed in to
Getting an M-16 zeroed in or a similar weapon or gun
By making adjustments to the weapon's site you get it adapted to you
By making adjustments to your life, you can adapt your environment to your needs

This can become achievable through multiple avenues, arenas and adaptations
LIfe itself is infinitely adaptable depending on your imagination, innovation and ingenuity
Success and the ability to drastically change the overall quality of life around you is
Weighed or measured on your ability to see and do things that others might not see or do

Seeing opportunities where others don't is achievable through positive sight
This can also be achieved by constantly adapting your routine to do things better
Starting with little changes each day that eventually graduate into big ones
This can and will make large impacts into the overall quality of life in and out of work
