Riddle Number 8

I am every shape, size and color
I am sweet, sour and salty
I am cheap and expensive
I am found on every continent

I am the joy of the young and the the old
From the very boring, to the very bold
I can last for years and years
Or be gone in an instant

I come in a plethora of packages
In glass, paper or plastic
I've been around far, far longer
Then your great, great grandmother

I am chilled to the bone
Or kept warm on a shelf
I'm the goal of
Every child's allowance
