A Salty Day at Sea-Part 6(Part-1 is in April)

We had been out on sail for a little over a month. We were due to hit Columbus' islands soon. I was very anxious to see all the great things I hadheard to be found all around.

From beautiful native women all over, to more gold then one could ever carry. The thing I looked forward to most was the food. Our cook was very good…,but you are only as good as your resources and we were running low on bread.
The remainder of the bacon and sausage was reserved for the captain, his officers and his esteemed guest.

So having something other then eggs for breakfast, crackers and cheese for lunch and, chicken soup for dinner would be a very, very welcome change indeed.
