Think back to a time seemingly forgotten
Where all things seemed quite well written
Where the sun's warmth brightened everyday
While the wind was always at bay
Think back to simpler times
With a lot simpler rhymes
When you were at the helm of prosperity
When all your goals seemed a possibility
What gave them that glamorous light?
Why were they devoid of any plight?
What was the one tried and true key?
That caused all that happiness to be
Upon much further thought
Where truths are deeply sought
The student of life slowly learns
That which his heart most deeply yearns
To gather the pieces of the many lives
Taking the truly good that each one gives
Like so many colors of acrylic paint applied
Like multi-colored pieces of tile compiled
Creating a masterpiece of profound glory
To complete, enrich and enliven this great story
Of the very fiber of our lives each day
Providing utter destruction of all dismay
