When Closed Minds Open

Like pieces in so many puzzles
Sometimes when we look hard enough
The pieces to life's puzzles finally appear
When and where we least expect them

The missing corner pieces
That a new life can be built out of
The key pieces to the foundation of success
Finally, finally become apparent

They gradually show themselves
In the daily routine
In the daily dredge
Appearing as if out of a fog

But little do we know at first
They were always there
We simply have to look for the sign
We simply have to have an open mind

Look to days long past
For good things to change
Look to days long past
For good things to rearrange

To truly change your thinking
Look to great minds of yesteryear
Look to creative minds of yesterday
To truly change your thinking

Know their lives
Know their sorrows
Learn from their ups
Learn from their downs

Discover what made them different
Discover what made them unique
Let their effort not be lost
Let their effort not be forgotten

Gather the experiences of great men and women
Gather the experiences of great individuals
Remember what only one has done
Remember what one can do

Pluck from their trees of experience
Pluck from their trees of wisdom
Plant their seeds of knowledge
Plant their seeds of hope

Find their forgotten truths
Find these forgotten sleuths
Find the many puzzles of their lives
Find the many pieces of their lives

Sew the wisdom of their lives
Sew the experience of their lives
Sew the many ideals
Sew all that appeals

Bake pies of possibility
Build puzzles of true ingenuity
Weave quilts of quiet quality
Wait for inner tranquility
