Riddle Number#21-A Salty Solution

I am as clear as the richest of crystal goblets
Or darker then the darkest of stormy nights
You will find me as gentle and soft as a newborn baby
Or as violent and angry as Spartan warriors of old

My reach extends to all the corners of the earth
Supporting life yet discovered by modern man
There is more known about the dust on the moon
Then parts of my vast expansiveness

Songs are sung by man and and beast while
Traveling over me or within my great expanses
Tales are told of many a beautiful maid
Where men's imaginations mainly wade

I am home to some of the most beautiful shades of
Yellow, orange, green, pink, purple and blue
And colors yet to be given a name by science or artist
I may be salty and savage, but I am also savvy and slick

Toughing It Out

When the going gets tough
The tough get going
A motto I need to think of
A lot more often

For at the end of the day
A lot of complaining doesn't get it done
A lot of handwork, perseverance and dedication
On the other had definitely do

The key is to focus on the goal
Or the light at the end of the tunnel
In fact it would better to create mini goals
Ones that will keep the ball rolling

With mini goals leading up to a big one
There are multiple lights and
Quite often much shorter tunnels
And more reasons to celebrate

Make a game of it if you will
Perhaps have the same goals as someone else
And have a reward for both of you getting there
But make it slightly bigger for who gets there first

By seeing different types o goals
As well as different size ones
We can mix things up and keep it interesting
For ourselves  as well as family and friends

We have to remember life is
About the journey to get there
Not the destination for
The journey is the fun part

So no matter how tough it gets
Don't complain or argue
For no invention was created or war won
By a bunch of complainers or time wasters

Riddle Number#20-A Little Help From the Sandman

It is something we want after every arduous deed
And it seems so few of us get what we really need
I will never ever come in a Starbuck's coffee cup
But with the right amount I will always wake you up

I come in many amounts and live by many names
I live in every language and am spoken by every tongue
I am great in the beginning, middle or end of the day
I am by far the best thing for you in every single way

Our time together can be brief or long
Shorter or longer then every single song
You are the master of your world of waking
In mine, I am king of every snoring thing

Yours is the world of tangible things
Mine is the world of dreams where
I only know what everyday brings
Mine is the world we only share

The Day They Came-Part 1

They day that it happened I will never forget
It was a hot summer July evening
We were all reclining outside our cars
Radios tuned up as we watched the movie at Becky's

An emergency broadcast blared across all of the radios
Cell phones instantly went haywire and burst into flames
The voice on the multiple car radios gradually faded
And was replaced with screams and background carnage

Panicked we all packed all our chairs, snacks and beers quickly
As I reached to turn the key it would not start and neither would anyone else's
One by one starting from the front row of the drive-in cars exploded
We burst out of ours and ran as fast as we could to the nearby woodline

Wondering what we would do and where we would go, we waited
As others ran from this horrifying chain of explosive events
We decided to see if our families were ok and then we would
Find a place to hide out, until we could find enough survivors

I Look, for I Know You Are There

I look, for I know you are a part of my journey
You are the pot at the end of the rainbow
You are the reason I wake up every morning
You are why I write and write and write

I look, for I know you are important
You are the catalyst to even greater things
You are the reason for every one of my seasons
You are why I wake up in the morning for work

I look, for I know we will make beautiful music together
You will arrive in the middle of my song and
You will be the most important influence in how it plays out
You will be known with me for doing great things

I look and look and look and look some more
I look for I know deep within my soul you are there
When I find you and I know I will, we will know it is right
We will know it was meant to be, since the day we were born

Beauty in the Darkness Grew

And so there was darkness as far as the eye could see
Everywhere I looked up, down, right, left darkness was all around me
Hope burned inside me like an eternal flame that could never be extinguished
This hope was untouchable, pure, incapable of desecration

Day by day I walked through this darkness with a smile on my face
Past the Debby Downers and the Doubtful Dans
Past the Negative Nellies and the Sorrowful Susans
As the time passed their eyes would look at me with all hope gone

Day by day I walked throughout this darkness with a smile on my face
Past the Nagging Nancies and the Narcissistic Nelsons
Past the Deranged Derricks and the Distraught Danas
As the time passed their eyes would look at me with all hope gone

And so one fateful day hope, fate, originality and reality all met
A light erupted in the darkness brighter then the Sun
It was one beautiful flower, untainted and unmarred by the blackness
It's very existence mocked the darkness and I knew I had made it

I Will Not Surrender

My goals are too great to simply go away
They will effect a great many for years to come
Their effect will be legendary in scope and possibility
Many will wonder how one dreamed so big

The seed will start small, but will grow greater by the day
Effecting the many worldwide in positive ways yet unimagined
I belief in a world made better by handwork and determination
I belief in a world where all can achieve for the greater good of all

I believe a free university is a possibility
For Pennsylvanians, the United States
For North America and the world as a whole
And by my hand this will be a reality

I believe in a world free of poverty
Where all men, women and children
Can and will succeed individually and collectively
And by our hands this will be a reality

I believe in a world where war is an antique
Stored on a shelf in a museum to remind children
The consequences of a lack of inequality and morality
And by our hands this will be a reality

I believe in a world where money doesn't rule
Our world will be ruled by ideals, intellectuals and natural law
Our world will have food, shelter and fear nothing
And by our hands this will be a reality

These are just a few goals I set forth for myself
As well as our society as a whole
We haven't truly moved beyond what has once
Been done in ancient times until these things

Start to become a reality of our everyday lives
We are simply reliving the past with newer toys
Newer names, clothes and jobs with fancy titles
We can change and make this all reality

Riddle Number#19-Sound of A Society

From the earliest ocarina to the electronic mixing board
I've danced on a string or happily hopped on a piano keyboard
I am the drum and the bass of the electronic DJ or band
Or the native rhythms on a tropical Caribbean island

Once you could only be hear me live
Until Edison gave me a new life of vinyl to live
Which is still the best, purest way to hear me today
And the purest reproduction in every way

Now your ability to hear me has grown more from then
First I could be heard over the AM, then FM Radio
Then I became personalized and portable in the Walk-Men
Then there was the Compact Disc Player and

Now there's the MP3 Player and Satellite Radio
As well as internet radio and streaming a YouTube Music Video
My future from now has yet to unfold
This will be left to the young and the bold

Fall

It comes in softly like a gentle whisper
The temperature gradually changes
The blanket of light's time over us
Dwindles like the sands of an hour glass

The colors of the leaves change and change some more
From the greenest of green on the eve of the season
To the most brilliant reds, pinks, oranges and yellows
Until they fall and clutter every yard, lawn and front door

While the day grows shorter and the night longer
New and different holidays grow from the darkness
Ghouls, ghosts and goblins crowd the streets of every city
Yelling Trick or Treat in every state in our land of fifty

The official color of the season grew to be orange
Brought about by the Jack O' Lantern who's legend
From our past grew from a gourd to a glowing pumpkin at long last
Helping poor old Jack's soul on it's unfortunate long way past

More grains from the our glass fall and each day
Gets a little shorter still and the nights a little bit longer
The leaves get raked, piled up, jumped in, cluttered
Raked again, piled up again and bagged up finally

New holidays sail in from across the ocean
Bringing new settlers from our past who met with
The local Indians and for a time worked hand in hand
In their day to day survival in our then young, wild land

This became a celebration of heart warming and homecoming
In this holiday we get to see long lost family and friends
With tables full of turkey, stuffing, corn, cranberry saue, ham
Home made bread, Salad, sweet potatoes and delicious desserts

This is a season of change, challenge and costumed kids
A season of constant color change and revitalizing reflection
A season for the takeoff of teaching, tenacious studying and being thankful
This is the Fall going out like a cold lion, the season when I was born

Riddle Number#18-A Voice for All Occasions

I am older then the oldest of cave paintings
I am the first way information was passed
I am still the most personal way to communicate
Technology will never fully rival my abilities

I am the vessel in which stories and news of old
Traveled from village to village, town to town
Country to country and century to century
Down throughout the ages to the present day

I am louder then the loudest drum or
Softer then the wind through the leaves
I can bring you up in a matter of minutes
Or drag you down in a few seconds time

From the right person or people
I can be the sweetest thing you will ever hear
I am there right as you were born and I am
Right there at your funeral on your way out

September 2011-Reflections…

So many opportunities all wrapped into one month
The positives are beginning to role over the negatives
Like a tidal wave of potently positively potential
Permeating through my multiple, multitudinous membranes

I would compare getting my positive attitude zeroed in to
Getting an M-16 zeroed in or a similar weapon or gun
By making adjustments to the weapon's site you get it adapted to you
By making adjustments to your life, you can adapt your environment to your needs

This can become achievable through multiple avenues, arenas and adaptations
LIfe itself is infinitely adaptable depending on your imagination, innovation and ingenuity
Success and the ability to drastically change the overall quality of life around you is
Weighed or measured on your ability to see and do things that others might not see or do

Seeing opportunities where others don't is achievable through positive sight
This can also be achieved by constantly adapting your routine to do things better
Starting with little changes each day that eventually graduate into big ones
This can and will make large impacts into the overall quality of life in and out of work

Nature Found a Way

When water heated in
A plethora of shallow pools and
Deep oceans across the earth
Nature found a way

When the earth was devoid
Of the vast oxygen it has today
Plants and trees grew and grew and
Nature found a way

When small mammals struggled against
Giant reptiles who roamed the earth
The climate changed and
Nature found a way

When the continents divided
And animals were spread about the earth
They adapted and changed to fit their new lives and
Nature found a way

When you wake up in the morning
And you wonder how you're
Going to pay all your bills and eat
Remember nature found a way

When you wonder how am I
Going to compete creatively
In this vastly competitive world of ours
Remember nature found a way

When you wonder when am I
Going to find the one to marry
Or I wonder if I ever will
Remember nature found a way

Wen you're wondering when
Will all of life's pieces fall into place
And all my dreams starting coming true
Remember nature found away

Riddle Number#17-Eternal Warmth

I am the beginning of man's technological growth
I paved the way for a plentiful plethora of new inventions
Through me better tools and weapons alike could me made
For man to hunt better, protect himself better and build better

I was the first long distance communication
From one tribe to another in ancient times
My ability to create was only matched by my ability to destroy
I have taken more lives then all natural disasters combined

I am carried over many countries as the symbol of competition
When I get to my destination I am the beginning of a global sporting event
I am the center of attention between two loved ones
Where they sit by and sip champagne

Daily access to me is taken for granted by most
Modern civilizations in our world today, but
People stranded on desert islands and deserts
Greatly depend on me for daily survival

Riddle Number#16-The Foundation

I am the beginning and the end
Of me you have begun and
Of me you will so return
And so is the fate of all men

I attract you to me more then
The most beautiful man or women
I am cut millions of times by man and beast
And yet I never will I bleed even a drop

I can be portable or stationary on display
Or seen out of any and every window
Great explorers from every land climb my
Heights or view me in the deepest of depths

I am the foundation of all foundations
Many people own me and maintain me
Wars have been fought over me since man
First left my shelter and built his own

Dream of the Awakened Man

My waking dream is to make the world better
Through multiple layers of change brought about
By simple changes in the way we do things now
To reroute things back to the path they should be on

First to create a higher education system that
Allows everyone to go for free, which only
Discerns who gets in by their IQ, not the size
Of mommy or daddy's bank account

Second to create an organization whose soul purpose
Is to create systems, devices and make life in general better
This organization's main mission would be to solve
World hunger, which simply should not exist

Third, a different organization similar to the first would be
Created that would have it's two main focuses be to
Develop terraforming technologies as well as
Interstellar space travel within 20 years

Fourth, a new topic would be added to the elections
Which would take time and the pooling resources of
Multiple organizations, lawyers and vast monetary sums
To completely outlaw the manufacture of tobacco and alcohol

Fifth, a third organization would be started to govern
Companies that pollute as well as pharmaceutical companies
Companies that didn't stop polluting completely would be shut down
While the pharmaceutical companies overmedicating would be as well

Sixth a new system would be put in place in all American schools
Teachers would be paid commission and would no longer have tenure
If a teacher's students performed poorly more then one year in a row
That teacher would be let go, teachers with students that did well would get raises

The current way our race is traveling in is not positive
We are overmedicating and under educating
We are over drinking and over exhaling
We finding ways to look younger, but not ways to stay young

We have found many band aids for all of our problems
We have focused so heavily on ways to ease the pain
Without trying to actually solve any of our problems
It makes one wonder if we've tried and failed or simply don't care

There are those of us that do care and we need to start making a difference
Companies who are not making this world better for all need to disappear
We need to start being in the race for everyone to win
I don't want to leave anyone behind, how about you?

Clarity of Purpose

A sustained knowledge that would allow an individual
The ability to know why he or she is here
To singularly focus on that and only that
Every waking moment of every single day

To see a better future everyday
By gearing not simply some of our deeds
But all of them in the direction towards what
Would allow us all of the best possible routes

Options and avenues in which to allow
Us our utmost potential to succeed in
All we've set our minds to throughout our lives
Giving us the ability to achieve multiple goals

To their highest possible level of completion
Creating new levels of success based off of
What we've thought seen and done
Necessitating a new definition for the word success

This poem is property of Anthony W. Pawlowski and can not be replicated in any way shape or form. This representation is for viewing only and is Copywritted 2011.

Clarity of Thought

A complete balance of all things
An ability to know all we are here for
An ability to only concentrate on what's important
A life with 100 percent complete concentration

A moment in time and space when
We are able to connect all patterns
To see things as they actually are and
How they've gotten us here as well as

Where they will go after today, tomorrow
Even after hundreds of years from now
An ability to see all of the links of all things
An ability to see the structure tying it all together

A oneness with the universe
A moment of complete zen
A link to the source of all
A link between life and death

Battle of the Dreamer

We all have our battles that we live with everyday
Each one of us wages them in our own way
We arrive with different weapons at different times
Different places, spaces, faces…with our own dimes

We all have different tools to go at our own duels
Some of us quite adept, while others still have to learn the rules
Of the game that we as the dreamers play day in and day out
It is tougher then tough, the key is to never, ever give out

From the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed
You need to be thinking how do I get my family better fed?
I need to dream bigger and think more then others do
I need to go that extra mile where others have never went

I need to find inspiration in everyday life
And grow stronger from every single strife
Build towers to my goals, aspirations and dreams
With negative building blocks, found everywhere it seems

I need to become like a mirror or the image in a reflecting pool
The more someone says I can't, the more I will prove them a fool
The more negative someone is each and everyday
The more positive I will become, in every possible way

I will become a beacon of positivity
Radiating happiness like a Nuclear Power Plant radiates radioactivity
Coworkers will stop and wonder, what's his story, why is he so happy?
I will say, why shouldn't I be? There's so many reasons to be merry…!

We can all be happy for a plentiful plethora of positively pleasurable purposes
There are so many rambunctiously, radical, ridiculously, rampant reasons
To take joy in every moment we are alive and if I may
I would like to help you name a few

You live in the land of the free and the home of the brave
You woke up this morning and your cute neighbor gave you a wave
You got up the courage to write how you really feel on that looseleaf paper
And you were kind enough to share a piece of yourself with all of us

This poem is property of Anthony W. Pawlowski and can not be replicated in any way shape or form. This representation is for viewing only and is Copywritted 2011.

Overcome

Crush all obstacles
That come your way
Like Godzilla
Going through Tokyo

Blast through walls and barriers
Like Bomberman against Bagula
And his evil henchmen
The Five Dastardly Bombers

Incinerate enemies like
Bill “Mad Dog” Rizer
Or Lance “Scorpion” Bean in Contra
Fighting the Red Falcon Organization

Slice up everything in your way
Like Leonardo with his katana through foot soldiers or
Or rattle some heads like Michaelangelo beating up
Bebop or Rocksteady on the Ninja Turtles

Fight for what is yours with all your strength
All your might and all kinds of magic and crazy weapons
LIke Link in the Legend of Zelda just trying to
Save his women, the princess from Gannon

Race past all of your obstacles
And pummel your enemies on the way
Like in Road Rash as you drive your
Ninja motorcycle through Sierra, Nevada or the Palm Desert

In Memory of Loved Ones Lost

Ten years have past, but our love for you never will
As the seasons change and the years go by
We will honor your great loss with unwavering
Support of our armed forces at home and abroad

Your great sacrifice reminds us how fragile our lives
Truly are in this turbulent world we live in
Civilians will honor you by flying flags higher and
By living to a higher standard of patriotism then before

We too remember the lives lost by rescue works
Trying to save you from the rubble in the aftermath
Of this great tragedy heard across the free world
In all countries who believe in freedom and democracy

Soldiers still serve in the far away land of Afghanistan
Where this great horror originated so many years ago
We honor their dedication and the giving of their time and lives
To preserve the pursuit of life, liberty and justice for all men

A Salty Day at Sea-Part 5(Part-1 is in April)

After reminiscing of days long past
My shift in the crow's nest was coming to a close
As the sun began to rise and the ship began to bustle
I climbed down the long rope ladder to the deck

Thankfully after a night in the nest I could rest
As I walked further downward, I could smell breakfast in the galleon
Our cook was one of the best in all of Spain and France and
We were very thankful for his culinary skill in the kitchen

While I walked on the deck I saw a few of my friends
And they yelled loudly to me over the roar of the ocean
Hey Jose, how was the crow's nest last night?
Did you see anything worth while they asked jokingly?

You know the usual, stars, ocean and more ocean
I yelled back jokingly to my crew of friends
Finally crossing over half of the ship I made it to the galley door
There were only a few people left down there, for most were on the ship

Levels of Leverage

It takes time to achieve the ability
To make minor adjustments
That cause major change
In your life and the lives of others

You have to start by setting aside time
To think a little differently and
Act a little differently then your
Surroundings would dictate for you

You have to remember that your life
And how you live it are dictated not
By where you were born or
Who you hung out with

But by the decisions you make and
The attitude you carry towards the world
And people around you each and everyday
You are alive on this planet

The higher your ability is to cope with change
And the higher your ability is to create change
Will allow you to live the life you want to live
See things you want to see and

Experience your full potential and if you
Are fortunate enough, fulfill your purpose
That was designated for you on this
Little green and blue planet of ours

To do this you need to find the key to open all the doors in your way
Find the courage to jump, leap or climb over all the obstacles you find
Become your own influence in your life and tune out the negative
Be a positive influence on others through word and deed

Give people hope to those who have none
Carry a good attitude even if you're having a bad day
Be a shining beacon of hope for all those
Negative Nancys and naysaying Nelsons

Riddle Number#15-Ancient Decider of Fate

I am the difference between happy or sad
I am the why behind mad or glad
I am the designer of destinies
I am the destroyer of destinations

I am the garment of the successful
I am warn on their faces
I am warn in their walk
I am how they really got where they are

I am not found under any rock
I am no ancient, hidden mystery
To be found deep in the pages of history
I am as a simple as a two-handed clock

I've endured the worst wars, famines and diseases
I've been through years in prison and slavery
I've beaten, battered and bludgeoned
Yet I always come out on top

Quiet

His inner voice spoke to him in the darkness
Too softly for him to hear at first, I thought
It was a ruffling of the wind or his aged building
Creaking eeeehhhh, slowly in the autumn night

Frustrated his inner voice spoke louder to him the darker night
Still too soft for him to hear and I thought
It was a cricket chirping or leaves rustling
Tossing wooosssshhhh, slowly in the autumn night

Pacing all around the brain the inner voice thought deep into the night
He consulted the gut instant for hours on end
He sat with imagination and motivation for a long time as well
Finally a light went on, slowly in the autumn night

He thought of running water and said nothing
To this I awoke quickly and quietly
And the inner voice imbued his wisdom upon me
Sometimes the best thing to do is to say something by saying nothing

Rebirth

I push closer and closer towards the light
For I know it is worth the seemingly endless fight
There are trials and tribulations on the way
Sometimes the end seems so far away

Patience is a virtue I am learning very well
I am finding it's true worth where I dwell
Inner peace is never really far behind
I simply have to clear my mind

As I get older, I find healthier, happier ways to this goal
They bring long term relief and long term health
With them comes new ideas and inner wealth
I can and will see the light, for that is my truest goal

It's gotten closer now and I am nearing it
Now that I'm here, I can help others find it
Lost on their way, off the right path
Let them know there isn't any Math

Inner Battle

My eyes open to the sun's light
And so begins my inner plight
The two kings in their two lands
Begin their days by shaking hands

They promise for it to be a fair fight
They assure it to end by 9 at night
One of them lives in a castle of purest white
The other in one of darkest night

They represent two sides of every thought
One says yes I can, the other no I cannot
One rules with a sword of positivity
The other with a whip of negativity

They battle each other everyday
In hopes the tide will sway their way
They use a myriad of weapons and tricks
One tries to destroy, the other to bolster and fix

Sitting high atop his trusty steed
The king of positivity commands a vast army
Of positive thinking, confidence and kindly deed
Knights of kindness and wizards of wisdom

Lurking on his donkey of destruction, opposite his foe
Sits the king of negativity with his foul, festering army
Of negative thinking, cowardice and evil deed
Knights of clumsiness and wizards of woe

In the battle over my mind
I gather all the positivity I can find
From inner reflection and
Deeper then deep introspection

I arm the king of positivity with newer armor
To wage the fight that will end my plight
Against the king of negativity and his festering army
He can be beaten by seeing in a positive light

Riddle Number#14-The Beauty of the Beholder

I have been around from the very beginning
My influence began to take hold from the start
I was once used to tell stories or record time
Now I am a multitude of mediums

I am a prize of the wealthy and the poor
I am priceless or I am free
I am viewed by the fortunate few or
I am free for every eye to see

I am temporary or permanent
I am portable or installed
I can make you happy or sad
I can comfort or make you appalled

My value and meaning are
In the eyes of the creator
I am a creative moment frozen in time
For many generations to enjoy

This poem is property of Anthony W. Pawlowski and can not be replicated in any way shape or form. This representation is for viewing only and is Copywritted 2011.

Riddle Number#13-A Multi-Colored Multitude

I come in a plentiful, plethora of
Shapes, sizes, colors, and varieties
I am taller then a snow capped mountain
Or smaller then a common field mouse

I can heal all of your sicknesses
Or cause you to break out in rashes
I can cut you if you aren't cautious
Or heal those cuts with a quickness

I can be found in the wind, water, fire and earth
I can be found above water and under earth
Or underwater and above the entire Earth
Or be the fire to start man's intellectual birth

I am a treasured gift for the weary and the loved
I am a welcome guest at every event happy or sad
I am the smell of rebirth at the beginning of Spring
I am the multi-colored multitude in middle of Fall

Today Is The First Of Many

Today is the day it will be different
Today will change everything
Today is different for many reasons
But one of them out weighs the others

You've made many changes to
Make each day a little better then the last
You've changed your diet, you run everyday
Quit smoking and drink water instead of coffee

Today is the day it will be different
Today will change everything
Today is different for many reasons
But one of them out weighs the others

You've made many changes to
Create a newer, better, more efficient routine
But one change is more important then the rest
You get more quality sleep and it solves many problems

God Is In All Of Us

Take a moment and think
Of the homeless man in the subway
The child playing guitar on 55th and Broadway
Or the waitress working three jobs to survive

Under different circumstances they could've
Been us if we had done things differently
Made different decisions or had been
Born to different parents or in a different place

Take a moment and think
Of the starving children all over the world
Those parents that can no longer pay for their families
The high school dropouts trying to make it

We can help them and it doesn't
Take a lot of money or time
We have to start by taking the time
To sympathize and care about them

Remember that we are all in this together
Great and small, old and young
Rich and poor, fat and skinny
White, black, brown, yellow or purple

Wherever you are from and
Whatever your situation or income may be
You need to care, you need to understand
We are all linked in this world and in time

The failure of the one is the failure of the many
Our structure needs to grow to accommodate
Everyone of all walks of life, no matter
What city, state, country or continent you're on

We have to remember that no matter
How bad it gets or how hard life is for us
Or for those around us in our lives
God Is In All Of Us…
