Building Bridges With Donuts

At first glance it sounds silly
At second the beauty of it
Starts to reveal itself and yet
Not as much as it will

This is a poem for the new
Guy or gal at work
It doesn't have to be any certain
Type of job or profession

Any job, at any place or any time
Will simply do just fine
To be completely honest with you
You don't even have to use donuts

The donuts simply represent
A genuine, unexpected act of kindness
That will show the older experienced crowd
That you get it, you understand it and

You're on board with them for the ride
You're like them, you pay bills, you struggle
You have hopes, dreams and wants
You want that house with the white picket fence

You want to beat the Jones
At their own game
Drive the better car, have the better house
Eat the better food and go to on cooler vacations

You may wear different pants or a different dress
Wear different shoes or have different hair
Drive a different car or live in a different place
Or have a different education

At the end of the day though
Everyone wants to go home and relax
Everyone wants to succeed and
Everyone wants to retire happily
